About the school

Founded in 2019 in a converted joinery. Four tutors, one kiln, twelve benches.

What we believe about teaching craft

Three positions that shape every course here, including the ones that cost us enrolments.

Fundamentals before style

Style is what you have left once the fundamentals are automatic. Teaching it first produces students who can make one thing.

Small enough to see everyone

A tutor who cannot watch your hands cannot correct what you are doing. That sets the class size, and the fee follows from it.

Finish things

Every course ends with completed, presented work. An unfinished portfolio teaches you nothing about finishing.

The tutors

All four still take commissions. That is not incidental.
